Helping Small Local Businesses Stop Losing and Start Winning

Marketing For Small Local Businesses

The 5 Step Marketing Process I Use to Get Small-Medium Local Businesses More Leads

Hello, my name is William, and thank you for reading this page.

Here, I’ll walk you step by step through the process I use to help small local businesses generate more leads.

You can either implement this system yourself, if you have the time, or you can have me do it for you.

But First, Why Do You Need This 5 Step System?

Most marketing campaigns fail.

In fact, according to stats, Roughly 7 out of 10 ad campaigns don’t make their money back.

Why?

2 reasons.

Well first, most marketers and even the big agencies are straight liars.

They’ll use slick salespeople, or become one themselves, to convince you they can make it rain gold with their marketing.

But they are not really pros at marketing.

And second, because they don't focus on all four areas on your entire marketing machine:

  • Lead generation: Getting high quality traffic.

  • Lead conversion: Boosting the ability or persuasion power of your marketing to turn visitors into customers.

  • Lead nurture: Staying connected with leads and building a relationship with them.

  • Lead response: How quickly you respond to leads and the quality of your customer service

Most business owners and marketers focus primarily on the first area: lead generation, which is stuff like SEO, paid ads, and social media outreach.

And even then, they don't do lead generation the right way.

If you want to succeed, you need to focus on all four areas I just mentioned.

And that's exactly what I'm gonna show you how to do in this page.

Now that I I showed you the four areas that need attention, I’ll show you the exact 5 step process to optimize each one and help small businesses succeed in marketing.

Step 1 - Traffic Generation

The first step to building a successful marketing machine is driving traffic or generating leads to your marketing platforms, whether that’s your website, business page, social media page, or any other place your customers interact with you.

Because without any traffic, well, everything else does not matter.

So, how do you get more traffic?

Before I show you, you first need to understand that not all traffic is equal.

There is some traffic that is better than other traffic.

The quality of the traffic is determined by how likely visitors from that traffic is to become a paying customer.

There is high quality traffic, which is traffic that will most likely turn into a sale.

And then there’s low-quality traffic, people who are very unlikely to turn into a sale, if they ever do at all.

For example, getting traffic from a blog post like “how to fix a sink” may bring in a lot of visitors to a plumber's website, but very few of them will actually turn into paying customers.

Be careful of marketers or agencies that promise lots of traffic and then show you reports to prove it.

Often, they’re just pumping out blog posts or content that attracts low-quality traffic, even if the numbers look good on paper.

The traffic you want is obviously the traffic that is high quality.

The quality of your traffic depends on where you promote your business, the type of content you create, and how effective your ads or hooks are at capturing attention.

The goal is to show up where people are most likely to become customers, answer the exact questions they ask when they’re ready to buy, and use strong hooks that immediately pull them in.

Here are the key questions you can ask to attract high-quality traffic.

  • Where do people actually go when they’re looking for your product or service? Are they using Google, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or a combination of these platforms?

  • What are they typing into search engines like Google, YouTube (yes, YouTube is a search engine), TikTok, Amazon, Reddit, or even directly inside platforms like Facebook and Instagram?

  • What doubts, questions, or challenges do they need solved before they choose a business like yours?

  • What can you say in your headline or first few lines that immediately tells someone, “Yes, this is exactly what I’m looking for”?

The more precise you are in following the process above, the higher the likelihood of attracting high-quality traffic.

The Where and How to Advertise Is Always Changing

One thing I have to say is that where you advertise and how you advertise will always change over time.

That's the nature of advertising, and you have to adapt if you want to succeed.

Today it might be Google Ads, tomorrow it’s Facebook ads, later it's SEO, then TikTok or YouTube, etc.

And today, what I'm seeing, it's the combination of all the above, and now you can add in AI tools like chatGPT, Gemeni, and so on, as places where people are looking for small businesses.

What I suggest is to start with the platform that people are most likely to look and expand from there.

With all the automation and AI tools available today, you can create and publish content across all your social media platforms at once, saving you a significant amount of time.

Now, one thing to note is that even though

But one thing never changes.

Buyer intent.

The reason people buy, the questions they ask, and the problems they want solved stay the same.

People may use different platforms, but their intent doesn’t change.

That’s why the best advice I can give is this.

First figure out exactly where your ideal customers are most likely to look for your service.

Then figure out the exact questions they want answered and the exact words they use when searching for your product or service at the moment they’re ready to buy.

Then create content around this, is all formats, written, graphic, and videos.

Don't worry about stuffing keywords or making sure you have the literal exact keywords to match.

These tactics are dying out.

Just focus on satisfying the intent as much as possible.

If you focus on answering the intent behind the search, you’ll always win.

Step 2 - Build Credibility

The second step to improving your marketing is ramping up your credibility score.

Today, and forevermore, people are extremely skeptical about everything.

If your credibility is shot, then that can quickly turn people off and instead choose your competitor.

Here are some questions people are asking when deciding whether to do business with you:

  • Can I trust this business to deliver what they promise?

  • Do they have the experience or expertise to handle my needs?

  • Will I get good value for my money?

  • Are other people like me satisfied with their service?

  • How easy is it to work with them—will they respond quickly and clearly?

  • What happens if something goes wrong—will they fix it?

  • Do they understand my unique situation or needs?

If your credibility is shot, then that can quickly turn people off and instead choose your competitor.

If your website, social media, and business pages don’t look credible and professional, people will quickly lose trust and move on.

Here are some things people are doing that are making them lose credibility:

  • Bad web design: A poorly designed website makes your business look unprofessional and untrustworthy at first glance.

  • No consistent posting on social media and business pages: Inactivity sends the message that your business isn’t engaged, reliable, or current.

  • Low review count or negative reviews: Customers look for social proof—if you don’t have it, or it’s weak, they may assume you aren’t reputable.

  • No content addressing customer questions and concerns: People won’t take the risk of buying if their questions about your product or service aren’t answered.

  • Slow response to inquiries: If you don’t answer calls, emails, or messages promptly, customers assume you won’t deliver on your promises.

  • Outdated information or offers: Old content, expired promotions, or inaccurate business details make people doubt your reliability.

My job as a marketer is to find all the places in your marketing where credibility is low and improve it as much as possible.

A few things I can do for your business include: creating high-quality web design, both creating and guiding you to produce content that builds credibility, automating your review requests, and developing content that can be posted consistently across your social media.

Step 3 - Standing Out

Let's be real, whether we like it or not, business is competition.

And potential customers are always comparing you to the competition.

It never ceases to amaze me how many businesses don't do anything to stand out, then wonder why they struggle to grow.

I mean literally nothing.

They don’t try to sound different, look different, or say anything that grabs attention.

Everything blends together, and then they wonder why no one notices them.

Think about it.

When you go buy products on Amazon or look for businesses, what do you usually do?

I’m pretty sure you’re comparing products, reviews, websites, and multiple businesses before making a decision.

And guess what, every single potential customer is doing the same thing out there.

So, what are you doing to stand out?

Here are a few things you can do to stand out:

  • Be highly credible:

  • Have a Unique Selling Proposition (USP):

  • Learn copywriting/persuasion principles:

Standing out are an art and a science.

I bring together everything I’ve learned in marketing and real-world experience to help your business stand out in a crowded market.

Step 4 - Follow Up

I bring together everything I’ve learned in marketing and real-world experience to help your business stand out in a crowded market.

People are busy, easily distracted, impatient, they procrastinate, they get lazy, have trust issues, you name it.

They might be interested in your business one moment, and the next they’re clocking back in at work, watching a cat video, or telling themselves they’ll get to it later.

They may take their time making a decision, hesitating, confused, waiting for clarity, hoping time will reveal the right answer, while slowly forgetting everything they read about the businesses they looked at, including yours.

When people aren’t sure who to choose, they default to the business that’s most familiar and top of mind.

Building a follow up system is crucial if you want to maximize the amount of leads you get.

Ways to follow up:

  • Email marketing: automated and personalized emails that nurture leads, answer questions, and keep your business top of mind until they’re ready to take action.

  • Retargeting campaigns: ads that follow up with people who have already visited your website or interacted with your business, keeping you top of mind until they’re ready to decide.

  • Phone calls and dropping voicemails: a personal touch that connects with prospects who may ignore emails or ads, helping build trust and prompt action.

The follow-up system I build for you won’t be a generic sequence that blasts out spammy messages.

It will be strategically designed to nurture leads, build trust, and gradually increase urgency over time.

Step 5 - Lead Response

Imagine guiding a lead through all four steps, interested, convinced, ready to buy, only to lose them to a competitor because you didn’t respond fast enough.

Yes, this happens to many small businesses, and more often than they realize.

In fact, up to 70% of leads get lost by small businesses, simply because they respond too slowly or don’t follow up at all.

Most of the people who show interest never become customers, not because they weren’t interested, but because no one reached them in time.

Slow responses don’t just lose a lead, they hand it straight to a competitor.

Today, with automations and AI technology, there is no way this problem should ever affect your business at all.

In fact, you can get a distinct advantage if you implement these tools right now because they are fairly new to the market.

One day, and trust me when I say this, all businesses will need to have some form of AI and automations tools to respond to their leads to stay competitive.

If you act today, you’ll reap the rewards of being an early adopter.

Here are some things you can do to make sure you never, ever miss a lead ever again:

  • Set automations for every type of interaction people have with your business, every form submission, comment on a post, message, call, or any other action, so no lead ever slips through the cracks.

  • Add an AI chat widget to your website that automatically responds to visitors’ questions in real time. It not only provides instant answers, but it can also boost your website’s conversion rate by giving users exactly what they need without making them dig through pages. On top of that, these chat widgets can be programmed to book appointments or capture visitors’ contact information, ensuring no lead slips through the cracks.

  • Have a voice AI agent respond to missed calls. These voice AI agents can answer questions, take messages, schedule appointments, and capture important lead information, ensuring you never miss an opportunity, even when you’re unavailable.

The Plan

So now I am gonna lay out the plan.

The plan that will take your small business to a whole other level.

So, what do you think?

Don't you think that if you implement these five key steps to strengthen the four essential areas of your marketing, lead generation, lead conversion, lead nurture, and lead response, your marketing will not improve?

In fact, I believe in this system so strongly that I offer two types of guarantees to anyone who chooses to let me handle their marketing.

Here they are:

Guarantee #1: If I don’t generate you more money from the leads than what you pay me within 3 months, I’ll continue working with you for free until I do.

Guarantee #2: If you prefer, I’ll simply give you a full refund.

Now, you might be wondering: am I a solo marketer or a full agency to be handling all these things?

And if I’m just one person, how can I possibly manage everything myself?

I’m currently a solo marketer, but thanks to AI and smart automations, I can manage a business’s entire marketing system effortlessly.

And I prefer it this way because I believe you should have one person that can see your entire business and implement these marketing strategies

So if you’re ready, then let’s do this
